Overview
Hired directly by the business, Black Rock Excavating prepared and built a new gravel parking area in Townsend, Tennessee. The crew excavated the planned area and hauled away eight loads of dirt before installing geotextile fabric across the prepared surface. Black Rock then placed a four-inch base of pug mix and compacted the parking area with a roller. The project was completed February 25, 2026.

The Challenge
Creating the new parking area required removing the existing soil and preparing a stable base before stone could be placed. The work also had to tie the new gravel surface into the surrounding paved access area.
Our Solution
Working as the direct contractor, Black Rock Excavating excavated the parking footprint, hauled away eight loads of dirt, installed geotextile fabric, and placed a four-inch pug-mix stone base. The completed stone surface was compacted with a roller.
The Result
Black Rock completed the gravel parking area on February 25, 2026, providing the Townsend business with a prepared and compacted stone parking surface.
